Pedagogical Shifts of the CCSS for ELA (Engage NY)
Engage NY has put together a succint document to organize the pedagogical shifts demanded by the Common Core State Standards. There are 12 pedagogical shifts identified, 6 of which related are to ELA.
The six shifts for ELA revolve around balancing informational & literacy texts, knowledge in the disciplines, complex texts, text-based answers, writing from sources, and academic vocabulary.
